Originally used in ancient Greece, stones and statues were used to help give an added look of elegance in the garden setting. Originally inspired in Greek gardens, the outstanding shapes and designs have been used for many centuries.

On the other hand marble has been used in landscape design of gardens for just as long. Presenting scenes of nature and Gods, typically engraved into the stone itself. Most of the statues that we have today have lost the vibrant design and coloring. At this point we’ve come to realize that indeed we have misconstrued the past as the Greeks used a lot of vibrant colors and designs. The garden setting as we know it today can be directly connected with the ancient Greek designs.

A lot of our current Garden pieces and plaques can be connected with ancient garden landscape design, which can be viewed in our uniquely designed stones and artwork. Until recently the styles used subtle and less vibrant colors to not distract the viewer from the garden. Although we have begun to see new trends in which exquisite colors have begun to be used in garden plaques. Now there have been a meshing of designs, shapes, colors and usage.

These recent designs have shown off the colors and designs that have seemed to be lost forever. Moving away from our unpainted stones and moving towards a new color palate typically not associated with gardens. You can get garden plaques now in just about any look you want, whether its a colorful statue of a Greek God. A lot of the current garden plaques still follow the same themes as the greek variations, nature pictures, and even ancient Gods and Godesses. They have even begun making new designs that that are based on cartoon images. The recent design of garden plaques have even been designed to be used inside. This is commonly referred to as as the cottage style design, since you can use the garden wall plaques inside your house.

New plaques, and even some old have even been used for stepping stones. Imagine using unique, colored, stones for steps to your garden pond or up from the local lake. Don’t be restricted by simply using your stones on the walls or as visual pieces, don’t throw away those worn out garden pieces use them as steps on your garden bed. This adds another layer of design over the general and more common paving stones that are used in gardens.

Garden plaques are a great way to compliment your garden decor and style. These small additions can greatly hanger the way your garden appears, providing a new variety of detail never offered before. You want to be sure that you buy higher quality garden plaques, less expensive garden plaques means that you generally won’t be able to enjoy them for years to come.
