Schoolwork may seem to leave you with little time to do the things you need to accomplish, much less do the things you would like to do; often, though, the problem is not simply a lack of time, and a recent study revealed that two of the major reasons why high school students had academic problems were their poor use of time and lack of organization. College students, for instance, are finding it hard to finish their big projects like creating an artist website for computer science students, because they are hooked on to visiting their social networking profiles. In order to be organized, the first thing to do is to keep a list of tasks that you need to accomplish and use a pocket size notebook to record every idea, assignment, call, project, task, or errand, whether it be large or small, minor or important, as it arises; at first glance, your list may seem overwhelming, but using the following suggestions, you can whittle it down to a more manageable size. Put things in priority order because this can help you focus on the things that really need to be done and at the same time, you can eliminate the things that can wait or that you simply do not have time to do. Make a schedule and transform your list of the tasks into an action plan and have all your tasks written on a small pocket calendar or a diary; this does not mean that you are restricting your freedom, but instead, it will give you more control on your time. You may try to do your tasks in the day when you are still mentally alert.
