The Wave’s Flower

Jade is an incredibly talented friend of mine who juggles two job at the same time, making her schedule very busy; her regular day job is as a financial analyst for a publishing company while her sideline is as a cake artist and photographer. Her customized cakes are truly works of events and were featured in the newspaper, wedding cake exhibits, and even on MagTV, making them in demand for due to the painstaking detail that each cake features. A favorite among her clients are the naughty cakes, which feature figures that ranged from cutely to wickedly perverted; her wedding cakes with their elaborate and often unique wedding cake toppers are equally popular not just with the customers but also her fans. Other than the special events cakes, she also has a range of special desserts, which include the yummiest brandied walnut sponge cake I have ever tasted, brownies, cheesecake, cupcakes, and more. As a surprise for my mother on her fifty-sixth birthday, I ordered the brandied walnut sponge cake and gave it to her a day after her actual birthday; it was the last birthday she spent with us, but we did not know it then. I love to bake but my baking knowledge only covers brownies, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate crinkles, and oatmeal cookies; I have taken a temporary hiatus from baking due to the oven being broken, but as soon as it gets fixed, I am baking chocolate marble cheesecake. Cheesecakes are not very easy to make and I have scoured the internet looking for simple but yummy recipes with chocolate in it; my recipes are ready, now all I need is to practice.
