The Sword’s Valley

I have been working as a paramedic for 20 years, giving pre-hospital emergency medical care to the sick people and injured ones; paramedics offer skilled medications to the patients before they are taken to the hospital, resulting to the limitation of the possible negative effects of the illness the patients are having as well as in saving lives. They are available anytime you need them – 24 hours a day and for 365 days a year; you can usually find them in medical services that are based on hospitals, fire departments, ambulance services, municipal halls, or commercial establishments. These people commonly respond to emergency situations within seconds from the time they received the call. When a person wants to become a paramedic, he will undergo trainings inside classrooms for several hours, or inside hospitals and ambulance; he will also be taught how to operate ventilation equipments and other devices used in emergencies, as well as applying bandages and splints, and undergoing emt training. My years as a paramedic were spent I rural and urban areas and the first time I realized the importance of my life-saving skills when a man walked into the emergency department of the hospital where I was currently employed saying that his chest hurts; after a few minutes, he went into cardiac arrest and I, together with the doctors and nurses, responded immediately to help him. Just after a few minutes, the man was able to recover, breathed on his own, and his heartbeat was restored, then he was transferred to the critical care unit; the next day, a physician asked me to go to the CCU wherein a man was sitting in his bed while talking to his wife. I didn’t recognize him until he went right to me and thanked me for saving his life yesterday.
